FEDDs Neighbors to Voters: Precinct Organizing & VAN Training

  • Grace United Methodist Church 4105 Junius Street Dallas, TX, 75246 United States (map)

Being a local organizer or Precinct Chair is one of the most powerful roles in our democracy, yet most of us don’t have a clear roadmap for how to do it well.

Neighbors to Voters is a practical, values-driven training designed to help precinct chairs and organizers build real, sustainable, neighbor-to-neighbor organizing in their communities. This training is not about doing everything yourself. It’s about learning how to build relationships, grow local leaders in your neighborhood, and create year-round engagement that lasts beyond a single election.

Using the Neighbors to Voters manual, we’ll cover how to:

  • Build a simple precinct structure that prevents burnout

  • Grow neighborhood leaders and volunteer teams

  • Use the TX VAN tool to understand your precinct and guide outreach

  • Practice relational organizing & deep canvassing

  • Create a steady rhythm of outreach that builds trust & turnout

This training is especially encouraged for new precinct chairs, but all precinct chairs, existing organizers, and anyone who wants to learn how to organize against the authoritarian takeover of trumpism - are welcome & encouraged to join us. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to strengthen your organizing skills heading into 2026.

Come ready to learn, ask questions, and leave with clear, practical next steps you can put into action right away.

IMPORTANT PREP NOTE:  If you are a Dallas Dem Precinct Chair, contact Dallas Dems to give you access to the VAN system, if you don't have it yet. This training sessions DOES welcome organizers who don't have access to VAN, as well, but PCs will be helped with their VAN and shown how to pull their own lists. We highly recommend you log into VAN in advance of the meeting, so you are ready to roll with the tool. If you are a PC who will use VAN during the training and you have one, please bring a laptop. That will allow you to work on your lists at the time and help pull lists for organizers without VAN access. Go team!  ✌🏻

Thank you for joining us in this important work to fight back. Glad to have you in the Resistance.
