FEDDs Senate Debate Watch Party
The FEDDs’ are holding a Senate Debate watch party & discussion for the AFL-CIO hosted debate between US Rep Jasmine Crockett and TX Rep James Talarico. We’ll watch it together and chat about this most exciting primary race. Who we select in this election MUST win in November, so let’s make sure we are all informed and ready to help GOTV (get out the vote) to flip this seat!
Date: Sat, January 24
Time: 1:00pm - the debate starts at 2
Where: Vector Brewing + Pizza + Coffee - Patio, 9850 Walnut Hill Ln #405
🚨🚨🚨 ALERT: We are booked on the great patio at Vector for this event. The space is mostly enclosed and has heaters. But the weather is looking like we may be stuck at home on Saturday. So there’s a chance this event will cancel or shift to being an online zoom event. Please watch this space and our newsletter for updates. 🚨🚨🚨
Our goal is to create a space that remains respectful & constructive. We’re fortunate to have 2 strong candidates, and people understandably feel very passionate in their support. In the past, however, some conversations have crossed into personal attacks or candidate-bashing, which ends up hurting and undermining the sense of community & solidarity we’re trying to build. What we’re hoping for is a discussion where participants can share why they support one candidate or another without tearing down the candidate they don’t support — and without alienating fellow Democrats who may feel differently. That kind of dialogue strengthens us; the alternative helps the extremist GOP.
Hope to see FEDDs, friends, candidates, and elected officials - ALL are welcome!

FEDDs Neighbors to Voters: Precinct Organizing & VAN Training
Being a local organizer or Precinct Chair is one of the most powerful roles in our democracy, yet most of us don’t have a clear roadmap for how to do it well.
Neighbors to Voters is a practical, values-driven training designed to help precinct chairs and organizers build real, sustainable, neighbor-to-neighbor organizing in their communities, developed by Jill Cochran, a FEDDs founder. This training is not about doing everything yourself. It’s about learning how to build relationships, grow local leaders in your neighborhood, and create year-round engagement that lasts beyond a single election.
Using the Neighbors to Voters manual, we’ll cover how to:
Build a simple precinct structure that prevents burnout
Grow neighborhood leaders and volunteer teams
Use the TX VAN tool to understand your precinct and guide outreach
Practice relational organizing & deep canvassing
Create a steady rhythm of outreach that builds trust & turnout
Date: Sat, January 31
Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Where: Grace UMC,
4105 Junius Street, Dallas, TX 75246
** REGISTER HERE: https://forms.gle/jyCxcZf2Ef5yMxtQ6 **
FREE event, Limited seating, Register now to reserve your seat
This training is especially encouraged for new precinct chairs, but all precinct chairs, existing organizers, and anyone who wants to learn how to organize against the authoritarian takeover of trumpism - are welcome & encouraged to join us. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to strengthen your organizing skills heading into 2026.
Come ready to learn, ask questions, and leave with clear, practical next steps you can put into action right away.
IMPORTANT PREP NOTE: If you are a Dallas Dem Precinct Chair, contact Dallas Dems to give you access to the VAN system, if you don't have it yet. This training sessions DOES welcome organizers who don't have access to VAN, as well, but PCs will be helped with their VAN and shown how to pull their own lists. We highly recommend you log into VAN in advance of the meeting, so you are ready to roll with the tool. If you are a PC who will use VAN during the training and you have one, please bring a laptop. That will allow you to work on your lists at the time and help pull lists for organizers without VAN access. Go team! ✌🏻
Thank you for joining us in this important work to fight back. Glad to have you in the Resistance.

It's important to note that the FEDDs as an organization does not endorse in primary elections. It is one of the only rules we honor, based on our mission to turn neighbors into engaged citizens, and encourage all citizens called to run for office. But FEDDs organizers are politically active and many are precinct chairs who may make public endorsements individually. The FEDDs Operations team selected the candidates to spotlight in this event. The other orgs are not to blame so come at us here if you have issues. ✌🏻
BONUS FUN! Friends at North Texas Dems, Old East Dallas Dems, FEDDs, and other org partners will be gathering IN PERSON FOR A VIEWING PARTY of this Zoom program at Grace UMC. Get there by 6pm for the program. 6pm, 4105 Junius

FEDDs GSD: Organizer Training (Nov 22)
We must begin the work NOW to get as many voters as we need activated for the 2026 elections. FEDDs Co-Founder Jill Cochran is known for her deep organizer trainings that provide attendees the ability to begin organizing in their own neighborhood right away.

This training program is FREE. Seating is limited. First come, first served, so register asap.

PLEASE NOTE: This round of training sessions is for organizers with access to the VAN system. If you are a Precinct Chair, contact Dallas Dems to give you access if you don't have it yet. We ARE planning training sessions for organizers who don't have access to VAN, following the VAN trainings - so we have more people trained to help us pull lists from VAN to feed to organizers without VAN access. Keep up with our newsletter and we'll schedule the non-VAN organizer training in the new year.
Address will be provided following registration. It will be at a private home in East Dallas near White Rock Lake.

FEDDs Monthly: Redistricting Update
Join the FEDDs, U.S. Representative Julie Johnson, and Texas Democratic Party Chairman Kendall Scudder for an insider update on the legal fight against the TX GOP's racist gerrymandered congressional maps. We’ll also consider our newly drawn districts and talk about organizing to ensure we elect representatives who will fight for us. Lastly, we'll learn more about the shutdown, and how we can help neighbors in need in these scary times. Don't skip this one.
The stollen democratic seats are part of a bigger plan to undermine our democracy and silence voices of dissent. This fight for fair maps is a critical part of our resistance movement against the GOP's authoritarian agenda.
November 4th is also election day! Please early vote starting on October 20th. Here’s our election notice. Make sure everyone you know has voted by Nov 4th.

FEDDs Monthly: Constitutional Amendments
Please join us to hear analysis on our upcoming election’s constitutional amendments. This November, there are 17 amendments on the ballot. As usual, they’ve made the language confusing with legalese. Join the FEDDs to empower yourself with knowledge to vote with confidence.
We’ll be joined by legal expert and FEDDs member Callie Butcher, who will break down the amendments to explain what they mean and how they could affect our daily lives, our communities, and the future of our state.
As we face the challenges of the white supremacist, christian nationalist authoritarian GOP movement, understanding the ballot is critical in our fight for democracy, justice and equity.

What’s a Lit Stick you ask?? From The FEDDs’ homepage:
‘Lit Sticking’ is The FEDDs’ most popular Get Out the Vote (GOTV) activity. A “Lit Stick” is a printed election reminder with all the relevant info on one big note we stick on the doors of voters. It includes dates & location info, as well as all Dem candidates, so voters take it with them to vote and easily vote ALL THE WAY DOWN THE BALLOT.
We provide a list of addresses, volunteers cover a lot of ground sticking literature on doors. “No knocking, just sticking” - you’ll get your steps in! In 2020, over 200K pieces of literature were distributed across Dallas County. We need to do much more to flip TX in 2024! ✌️
