🚨🚨 WEATHER CHANGE: We’ve moved the party to zoom! With the ice storm on the way, we’ve shifted to a virtual meeting. We will log into the FEDDs’ zoom event and chat for a few minutes at 1:30, then we will mute the zoom so we can each watch the debate. Then we’ll have our planned discussion following the debate. More details below. 🚨🚨
The FEDDs’ are holding a Senate Debate watch party & discussion for the AFL-CIO hosted debate between US Rep Jasmine Crockett and TX Rep James Talarico. Who we select in this election MUST win in November, so let’s make sure we’re informed and ready to help GOTV (get out the vote) to flip this seat!
Date: Sat, January 24
Time: 1:30pm - the debate starts at 2
Where: ON ZOOM - https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86553877653

Our goal is to create a discussion that remains respectful & constructive. We’re fortunate to have 2 strong candidates, and people understandably feel very passionate in their support. In the past, however, some conversations have crossed into personal attacks or candidate-bashing, which ends up hurting and undermining the sense of community & solidarity we’re trying to build. What we’re hoping for is a discussion where participants can share why they support one candidate or another without tearing down the candidate they don’t support — and without alienating fellow Democrats who may feel differently. That kind of dialogue strengthens us; the alternative helps the extremist GOP.
We’ve also got Bingo cards in case you want to play along!
Hope to see FEDDs, friends, candidates, and elected officials - ALL are welcome!
